Donna Childs

As a senior executive at Swiss Reinsurance Group, the world’s largest reinsurance company, Donna R. Childs dealt with major and minor disasters on a daily basis. This work proved critical when she established her own enterprise in Lower Manhattan. Her company, located on Wall Street, was directly impacted by the events of 9/11, and that experience gave her firsthand knowledge of what businesses must do to protect themselves. Childs has a BS from Yale University, an MA from Brandeis University, an MBA from Columbia University, and is a graduate of the Owner President Management Program of the Harvard Business School. In 2007, the National Association of Women Business Owners named her its “Woman Business Owner of the Year.” Donna Childs blogs about small business disaster preparedness and insurance issues on her website, www.preparedsmallbusiness.com.
